Welcome to the temporary web site of the AAOF.   While we are building our permanent website you will be able to join AAOF by clicking on the link below.   The membership is free if you join before April 1st, 2010.    If you join after April 1st the membship fee is $150.00 per year.  But due to this being our first year, your paid membership will expire on December 31st, 2011.  This will give you up to an additional seven months at no charge.

In addition, all who join the AAOF after June 1st, 2010, will receive Dr. Augusto Sarmiento's CD Manual of Fracture Casting and Bracing at no charge.  When you return the included home study 100 question answer sheet to us, you will be awarded 8.5 hours of ABC apporved CE.   The printed manual now sells on Amazon for $169.00.

The AAOF regular membership is open to all Certified Orthotic Fitters, ABC or BOC and to Athletic Trainers, Orthopedic Technologists and to all who fit braces as part of their daily job duties.

    The AAOF mission is to provide a national professional organization that is geared to the Orthotic Fitter.    The AAOF will provide continuing educational opportunities, a members message/video forum and legislative and industry information important to the Orthotic Fitter.   

   In the future, the AAOF will also an initial Orthotic Fitter Course.

   It will be the AAOF's mission to protect and expand the Orthotic Fitters scope of practice through educational opportunities and working with other O&P organizations.  We hope to have a robust online experience with 100's of learning video's and home study programs. 

    The new medical economic environment predicts that we will be using more off-the-shelf bracing than ever before.   The AAOF will be the organization that helps you stay ahead of the curve so you can provide better service to your patients and referring physicians.   The new trend is to have Orthotic Fitters work within the orthopedic office.  

The AAOF will be a leader in training these new Super Fitters/Physician Extenders.
